Clear Match Preview

Editorial policy

Clear Match Preview aims to make household choices easier to examine, not to push readers toward a predetermined purchase. We explain our reasoning, distinguish general guidance from firm claims and correct the record when needed.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual statements against appropriate information before publication and write within the limits of what can be established. We distinguish explanation from opinion, avoid unsupported certainty and make relevant qualifications clear. Readers should not treat our articles as a substitute for specialist advice where a decision depends on a particular product, property or circumstance.

Independence and relationships

Editorial decisions are made for reader relevance and clarity. Any paid, gifted or otherwise material relationship connected to content is disclosed in the content itself. Partner placements are labelled so readers can distinguish them from editorial coverage; a commercial relationship does not guarantee favourable treatment.

Corrections and illustrations

When a reader identifies a possible error, we review the specific claim and amend published material when warranted, making a note where a meaningful correction changes the reader’s understanding. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where used, they are identified as illustrations and are not presented as documentary photographs.

Our point of view

A good choice starts with a fair comparison

We look beyond the first price or appealing feature to consider fit, ongoing care and what you already own. The aim is a decision you can explain to yourself, not a perfect answer.
